League Description
- 3-on-3 hockey is played at all levels, including the NHL in overtime scenarios. The 3-on-3 game is much different - with less players on each team, it is a higher paced game and requires more defensive responsibility, as well as ability to identify opportunities and take advantage of them.
- The U16 3-on-3 league will provide exposure to this type of hockey.
- Same coaches throughout the season for consistency
- Fun environment for players to learn a different aspect of the game and grow their skills
- Equal playing time for all players

League Aim
- The primary aim of the U16 Island Super League featuring 3-on-3 hockey is to foster a dynamic and exhilarating game that promotes creativity and teamwork among the players. The 3-on-3 format opens up the ice and allows for more odd-man rushes, increased scoring opportunities, and makes the game more fast-paced and exciting. This promotes player development in various areas, including communication and teamwork, positioning, and decision-making abilities.
- Players and teams that are prepared with the proper strategies and tactics for this style of hockey will ultimately have success.
- Fewer players on the ice means more time on the ice with puck.

League Includes
- Six regular season games
- One Wednesday per month

Format
- Maximum number of participants per team — 7 players, 1 goalie
- These are skill based teams and Junior Tigers management reserve the right to move players between teams to ensure fairness
