TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
PLAYER BENEFITS
Tournament Description
The inaugural Hot Pot tournament was a huge success and will return for the Summer holidays. Organized in Hong Kong by Powerplay Sports & Entertainment, the event will once again be hosted at the new DB Ice Rink.
Teams will be drafted to ensure balance and competitive games. Cool jerseys will be provided to use for the duration of the tournament.
Age:
U7 - U13
- U7 - Born 2015-16
- U9 - Born 2013-14
- U11 - Born 2011-12
- U13 - Born 2009-10
The age group is flexible depending on the skill level of the participant.
Players are required to play in their own age group unless authorized by the Tournament Director. Please enquire directly regarding opportunities to play up a division.
Draft Format
- All players will need to sign up individually with parent consent
- Players can list one teammate to be drafted together (both players should list the other person they want to play with to be considered)
- Players and goalies can sign up for ONE division only
- Selected coaches will be invited from various clubs to draft the teams and coach them during the tournament
- Deadline to register – July 1, 2022
- Registration is first come, first served ONLY.
Structure
- Youth Divisions U7, U9, U11, and U13
- Minimum 4 teams in each division
- Up to 12 players + 1 goalie per team
- Minimum 4 games
- Includes Skills Competition for U9, U11 and U13
- Medals for the Finalists and Winners
- Championship Trophy for the Winners
- Online Stats and Tournament App
- Game Photos of Championship Game
Game Format
- Non-contact
- All players will be drafted on a team
- Teams will play 5 on 5
- 3 x 13 minute running time
- Stop time in the final 2 minutes if the game is tied or within 2 goals
- U7 games are cross-ice
- Each team is permitted one time-out (30 secs) per game
- In the round robin, if the game is tied, the teams will play a 3 min overtime session – 3 on 3
- In the playoffs, if the game is tied, the teams will play a 5 min overtime session – 3 on 3. Except in the Championship game where a second overtime period will be played
- If still tied, a shootout will determine the winner
- Team standings based on – Most points, most wins, least goals against, high goals for, least penalty minutes, greater goal difference and puck toss

Fee: U7 HKD 2,600 Player, U9 - U13 HKD 3,900 Player - HKD 1,950 Goalie
- 5% sibling OR returning player discount per player per program
- Maximum discount of 5% per player per program
- U7 division goalies free of charge
- Registration officially opens May 13, 2022

- We are unable to offer a refund due to non-participation.
- Registration is first come, first served, with priority given to current Junior Tigers participants.
- Registration officially opens May 13, 2022.
